Exista o zi de sarbatoare, in istoria biblica, numita Ziua Ispasirii = Yom Kipour. Sarbatorile la evrei nu sunt optionale. Nu ai optiune cu da si nu. Cine nu participa la ele (in vechime) isi declara sentinta la moarte ... publica. Citesc mai multe despre sarbatoarea asta in Levitic 16. Ca orice mare sarbatoare, are un ritual cu rugaciunile, cantecele ei. Rabbi Chaim Richman explica (in engleza) mai bine semnificatia acestei sarbatori.
Melodia de mai jos este de fapt o rugaciune si este cantata obligatoriu.

Our vows shall not be valid vows; our prohibitions shall not be valid prohibitions;
and our oaths shall not be valid oaths.
Si, sa nu uit. Din seara asta incepe postul cel mare, postul negru de 25 de ore care trebuie respectat cu strictete. Bolnavii pot bea apa ... insa limitat.
